Containerized Seawater Desalination Equipment for Marine, Island & Emergency Rescue Sectors

Recently, CNCLEAR customized a containerized seawater desalination unit for offshore operation vessels. This unit is designed to supply fresh water for both onboard equipment use and crew daily needs during maritime operations, with the produced water quality meeting the Standards for Drinking Water Quality.

CNCLEAR’s containerized seawater desalination units boast a water production capacity of 5-500 tons per day (t/d). Featuring high integration, a compact footprint, flexible installation and easy mobility, they can draw water directly from nearshore or deep-sea areas with high suspended solids and turbidity. After purification and desalination, the water meets direct drinking standards.

一、Customized Process Design

High-Efficiency Purification Process: The process of "automatic cleaning filtration + sand filtration/ultrafiltration + cartridge filter + two-stage reverse osmosis" is adopted to ensure the final effluent quality fully complies with the Standards for Drinking Water Quality, meeting the water requirements for production operations and personnel daily use.

Enhanced Pretreatment: Automatic cleaning filtration and sand filtration/ultrafiltration serve as pretreatment steps, effectively removing suspended solids, particulates and partial organics from seawater. This significantly reduces the load on reverse osmosis membranes and extends the system’s service life.

Two-Stage Reverse Osmosis: The two-stage reverse osmosis membrane system enhances the stability and efficiency of water treatment, maintaining consistent produced water quality even when facing water quality fluctuations.

二、Containerized Integrated Design

Compact Layout: Addressing the limited space in ship cabins, the entire system is integrated into a container—this not only saves space but also facilitates transportation and installation.

Environmental Adaptability: The container is equipped with insulation, air conditioning, lighting and floor drains internally, creating a stable and suitable operating environment for the equipment. This ensures efficient operation under all climatic conditions.

Corrosion Resistance & Durability: The exterior adopts full-welding technology and marine-grade paint, significantly enhancing the container’s corrosion resistance, extending its service life and enabling adaptation to harsh marine environments.

三、Intelligent Management

PLC Control: The system achieves automated control via PLC, supporting remote monitoring and fault diagnosis. This reduces manual intervention, enables unattended operation and lowers operation & maintenance (O&M) costs.

Chemical Cleaning System: The built-in chemical cleaning system enables regular cleaning of reverse osmosis membranes, effectively removing contaminants from the membrane surface, maintaining system performance and extending the membrane’s service life.

Flexible Deployment: The seawater desalination equipment is designed in modules, with each module serving as an independent skid-mounted unit. This allows for easy assembly and disassembly, adapting to installation requirements in various scenarios—especially for space-constrained environments or decentralized equipment layouts.
